FlashLin is an open-source project. This page explains what that means in practical terms: what you're free to do with it, and what nobody is promising you.

FlashLin is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

You may share and adapt FlashLin for non-commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to FlashLin and its developer/team, a link to the license is provided, and changes are indicated where applicable.

Commercial use is not permitted without separate written permission from the FlashLin developer/team.

FlashLin is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties or guarantees of any kind, express or implied.

No liability

The developer, team, contributors, and distributors of FlashLin are not responsible or liable for any issue, damage, outage, security incident, data loss, business loss, server problem, operating system problem, configuration error, misuse, or any direct or indirect consequence arising from installing, running, modifying, deploying, or using this software.

This is the same standard disclaimer you'll find attached to most open-source software — it isn't specific to FlashLin, and it isn't negotiable on a per-user basis.

Your responsibility

If you deploy FlashLin, you are responsible for testing, securing, configuring, backing up, and operating your own systems — both before and after putting it into production. Nothing on this site, including the performance figures and production guidance, is a substitute for testing FlashLin against your own real traffic and infrastructure before relying on it.

Where this is authoritative

This page mirrors the license view embedded directly in the FlashLin binary. You can display it at any time, on the machine actually running FlashLin, with:

flashlin --license

If this page and the binary's own --license output ever disagree, the binary is the source of truth for the build you're running.
